This is carnivalesque party music for the creatively inclined, traversing territory from high energy dance beats and bass to swing, jazz and hip-hop. Featuring a dynamic stage presence and a dash of seasoned carnie chaos, this cosmic circus is on a mission to make you boogie, gawp and expand your perceptual horizons.

Ungus Ungus Ungus is a shapeshifting collective, with a flexible lineup ranging from a large live band to a smaller soundsystem ensemble emphasising electronic production in tandem with live instrumentation and vocals. As a result, the crew has become a favourite on both the electronic and folk festival circuits, with their theatrical bent taking them into the performing arts and circus worlds. Their list of appearances includes internationally regarded festivals across Australia and New Zealand, including Woodford Folk, Port Fairy Folk, Rainbow Serpent, Luminate, Wangaratta Jazz,Wellington Folk, Subsonic and the Western Australian Circus Festival, alongside a host of immersive parties and events.

NYE 2021-2022 saw the release of Constellations, the band’s sixth studio album. This concept record fully realises a vision of non-stop party energy combining playful, expressive instrumentation and vocals and a huge and driving electronic bottom end. Swinging guitars, soulful saxophone, wailing clarinet, sweet violin, and bold trumpet recorded through beautiful analogue equipment join some absolutely filthy synth bass and layered acoustic and electronic drumkits to create a sound that is uniquely “ungus” – no other group sounds like this.

In 2022 the band released Move, a drum and bass infused tribute to physical movement in collaboration with Shoshana Sadia. In 2023 a remix of the song Balloon from the Constellations album was released by ARIA-award winning Davide Carbone on BS1 Records, retitled Holding Me Now. The song was featured on Carl Cox’s favourite tracks playlist.
